Manufactured exclusively by The Perth Mint as the Australian Government’s official Gold and Silver Bullion Coin producer, these beautiful coins are legal tender in Australia ($10 AUD) and contain ten troy ounces of fine silver (311.035 grams). The Next Generation series from Perth Mint celebrates the abundant wildlife in Australia. Issued as a piedfort this 10oz silver coin has the same diameter as a 5oz silver coin but is double the thickness. Piedfort is French "heavy weight". These were first struck in France during the 12th century. The reverse depicts a female saltwater crocodile carrying her hatchling on her back while submerged in water.  Radial lines mimic the rising sun in tha background.  For the eagle-eyed there is a micro-laser engraved letter within one of the crocodile's scales - only detectable with the use of a magnifying glass! This coin's obverse bears Jody Clark's effigy of Her Majesty Queen Eliabth II.  The inscription reads ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, 10oz, 9999 Ag, 2019, 10 DOLLARS.
