Created by Louis Tamlyn, the design merges Britannia’s classical form with the outline of the United Kingdom, set against a Union Jack backdrop. Depicted as both guardian and symbol, she stands poised with trident and shield, embodying strength and protection.

A special trident mint mark on the right of the coin denotes the important anniversary of twenty years of the coins history.
