1oz Silver American Buffalo Round

None of these Silver American Buffalo rounds were produced by the US Mint, there were all produced by smaller private mints and have no official connection with either the Indian Head nickel or the gold American Buffalo coin but each one is inspired by their designs. Golden State Mint

The Golden State Mint 1oz Silver American Buffalo round has been produced since 1981. They are based on James Earle Fraser's classic design of the buffalo nickel that was first issued in 1913 and was said to be among the finest issues of any American coins.  The obverse features a Native American man with the word "LIBERTY" above his head, whilst the reverse features an American Buffalo with the words "GOLDEN STATE MINT" around the top edge and the weight and purity underneath the buffalo.

Silvertowne Mint

This Silvertowne Mint 1oz Silver American Buffalo round has been modelled on the historic buffalo nickel, which features the massive buffalo, Black Diamond, a statue of which stood in New York's central park as a tourist attraction.  The obverse features a Native American man with the word "LIBERTY" above his head.  The reverse shows a buffalo with the words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM" along with the metal type, weight and purity.  There are two 1oz Silver American Buffalo rounds available one of which is dated 2013 and the other is undated.

Sunshine Minting Inc.

The Sunshine Minting Inc. 1oz Silver American Buffalo rounds based their design on the Indian Head Nickel, also known as the Buffalo Nickel which was minted between 1913 and 1938.  The obverse features a Native American man with the word "LIBERTY" above his head and the Sunshine Mint's initials at the bottom. The reverse features an engraving of a buffalo with the Sunshine Mint Mark SI and security mechanism in the middle along with "1 TROY oz 999 FINE SILVER" being the weight, purity and metal type, along the top edge.
