The obverse of this coin features a bust of Leopold II, The monarch known as "The Builder King" due to the many properties that he commissioned. Minted 1870-1882. The reverse features the Belgian coat of arms, with the inscription L'UNION FAIT LA FORCE along the top of the coin.
