With a limited mintage of just 3000 coins in this presentation, this coin is a valuable collectors item, minted in 2016 to commemorate the end of the round pound. The round pound had been in circulation since April of 1983, acting as arguably the most important denomination in the entirety of British currency up until March 2017, where it was replaced with the 12 sided pound we now know. The last round pound is perfect as either an investment piece or as a commemoration of this moment in the UK's history. The obverse of the coin displays the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, along with the face value of 1 pound. The reverse of the coin displays a brilliant design by Gregory Cameron depicts the "Royal Beasts" of the four nations of the United Kingdom. This includes the Welsh Dragon for Wales, the Unicorn for Scotland, the Lion for England and the Irish Elk for Ireland.
